A few settings I use that drastically improve game performance

Put these in your console to tinker around with them, and then in your autoexec when you're satisfied. Use net_graph 3 in console to check performance levels. If your lerp is orange or yellow, slowly increase cl_interp until it's white again.

cl_interp_ratio 1;
cl_interp 0.03;
cl_updaterate 66;
cl_cmdrate 66;
gmod_mcore_test 1;
