Important [Event] AHG Summer 2023 Update

Greetings everyone and Happy Two Year Anniversary!

Apologies for the delay on this update as I was preoccupied with a few things and then fell under the weather for a period of time. Nevertheless, the AHG Summer update notes are here.

If you are someone who checks the public Trello board every now and then, you may already be aware of the features to come for this event.

So what's new in this event?

Stats Tracking
This update will include stat tracking, with the aim being to provide players with a competitive leaderboard on the forums (this part is still in development) and for us developers and contributors to easier add features based on weapon tracking (such as skins, mastery, etc.)
Despite the forum leaderboard not being available yet, the stats are still tracking and here is a breakdown of the stats that are tracked.

  • Kills - This is a simple total counter for all of your kills, these kills and all other stats related to kills do NOT include teamkills or Fun Round kills.
  • Headshots - A total headshot counter, will also track headshots per weapon.
  • Weapon Kills - Kills per weapon, this will be distinct across servers, i.e. your kills with the Galil on vanilla will be separate from those on modded.
  • Prop Kills - Kills per prop model, this will also be distinct across servers, this will track your prop kills via various models, e.g. minecraftcity's pig, or your generic barrel (the oildrum)
  • Force Kills - This is a catch for very strange kills, due to Gmod and the source engine's way of attributing events/damage to players, this category will include things like crowbar/newton push kills, poltergeist explosion kills (not kills with the prop it's attached too), and world entity kills like crushing someone with a door. This category is a humorous one, and let's say you get a kill with func_door by pushing someone into a closing door and they die. This will count towards your force kills as a +1, then it will add a +1 to your func_door kills in "Weapon Kills". So this would mean there is a possibility of being a leaderboard for just about anything you can get a kill with, not just guns.
  • Traitor/Innocent Contribution - Kills as Traitor against Innos/Detectives and Kills as Inno/Detective against Traitors. A counter to show your team contribution.
  • Highest Kills on Innos/Traitors - A record of your highest kills in a round as one team against the other.
Just to reiterate, even though the forums leaderboard is still in development, these stats will be tracking in the meantime. I squashed all the bugs I could find during testing, but of course some may show up in some form or another after this update is released, feel free to post bug reports in that case.

The Member Rank
The Member rank is a new ulx group that will be awarded to all non-staff members who are registered on the forums.
  • This rank will not override your premium ranks, nor your legacy ranks. It will exist alongside them.
  • The rank will display in the scoreboard in the same column as the premium ranks. Of course, premium ranks will display instead if you have them.
  • Registering on the forums and therefore getting your member rank will get you a one-time bonus reward. This will be applied retroactively for users who are already registered.
  • Somewhat related, buying a premium rank will also reward you a points-reward, this will be done retroactively for all of your ranks.
  • Some HL2 models that were previously available only for VIP or higher are now in the new member rank section of the shop. The list of models are as below:
    • Combine Civil Protection
    • Male Medic
    • Female Medic
    • male_07
One last thing is an update to the loadout section, this part is already out so you can experience it.
  • There is now a "Random" option in the loadout section, this will give you a random weapon at the start of each round, and you can choose random for each category.
Also, Jondome was added to modded as you may have noticed.

Another thing to note is weapon mastery, this is a concept that we will be implementing in the near future. In essence you will be able to obtain certain rewards for milestones achieved with a weapon.
